During the holiday season, we experience new ways of celebrating a season or holiday. Sometimes it happens individually or together as a family. Before we experience Christmas Crackers together, Lil Fox’s dad learned about Christmas Crackers at a work event. Lil Fox made his own Christmas Cracker at school. He even had one during school Christmas Dinner. They were such a hit!

Both came home to tell the rest of us about Christmas crackers. Lil Fox wanted to share the experience with you too! We bought a box to keep at home so we can occasionally do them at dinner during the holiday season. It’s quite fun! If you think they’re food, guess again. Without further ado here’s a short interview with Lil Fox on Christmas crackers.

Q: What is a Christmas Cracker?

A Christmas Cracker is something that looks like a ginormous candy wrapper, but it would still fit in a garbage truck.

Q: What’s inside a Christmas Cracker?

Sometimes notes, sometimes other things, like crowns, finger puppets, stickers.

Q: What do you use it for?

At Christmas, you can use it at a meal. You can hang it up on your Christmas Tree to use later too.

Q: How do you open a Christmas Cracker?

You pull on both ends. Sometimes you only do it with two people and sometimes you can do it with all the people at your table. You each pull on an end and then they break. When you break them they make a CRAAACCKKK noise. (Parent clarification here: if you need a little more description, basically you hold one end and someone else holds the other end, similar concept to when you gather hands a grace before a meal, and then you both pull)
